Snow-covered peaks, snowy forests and fresh winter air – winter in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena is variety-packed and has something to offer everyone! Whether it’s on the ski slopes or off-piste, the snowy winters in Berwang and the whole region offer the ideal conditions to make the most of the cold time of year. With your holiday at the three-star Hotel Witt in Berwang you’re in just the right place to experience winter in the mountains.
Whether it’s a winter holiday with the whole family, a relaxing feel-good holiday as a couple or an activity holiday with friends – winter in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena has something to offer everyone and any sporting ability! There are also countless opportunities away from the perfectly prepared ski slopes to actively experience or leisurely enjoy winter. For example, anyone who wants to swap the snow under their feet for ice for a change can find a beautiful natural ice rink not far from Hotel Witt in the neighbouring village of Bichlbach. Children and adults can skate round on blades or give curling a try, a winter sport that is typical in Tyrol and promises entertaining holiday fun, right next to the Sonnenbichl lift.
Tobogganing is an extremely popular, fun winter activity for all ages! The “Bärenritt” natural toboggan run in Berwang, which starts at the Jägerhaus in the Berwang-Bichlbach skiing area, promises speedy tobogganing. You can walk leisurely from the village to the Jägerhaus in 30 minutes on a cleared winter hiking trail or if you’re in a rush or want to experience several runs one after the other, you can simply take the Egghof Sun Jet Lift. After a cosy stop at the Jägerhaus, bring on the tobogganing – guaranteed fun in the snow for everyone!
One special highlight for tobogganing fans during a winter holiday in Berwang is night tobogganing! You can also experience tobogganing action after sunset and whizz back down to the valley on the floodlit natural toboggan run at night from 6.00 to 9.45 p.m. every Thursday! You can also hire toboggans from all the sports shops in Berwang and at the Jägerhaus, so you always have the perfectly serviced toboggan and there’s nothing standing in the way of a spontaneous tobogganing trip.
For anyone who prefers to take things a bit more slowly, a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride is just the right thing to enjoy the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena’s snowy scenery. Wrapped up nice and warm, the team from the Joselerhof takes you on a journey of discovery through Berwang valley on a rustic horse-drawn sleigh. We are happy to organise a private sleigh ride for you at Hotel Witt!
